The Bible in 30 Seconds or Less | Old Testament: History

Machismo - Men, when seeking to rule a kingdom, conquer women, or the stranger, will always fail. This is good news. Like a present day political drama, Kings documents the almost mythological rise and fall of men who lead, seek power, and dominate women. From my perspective as a Latino living in colonized lands, I see Kings as theological history of colonial and conquering men failing at having discerning or faithful hearts. Though I may not resonate with the religious Xenophobia, there is Good News in that God will not reward powerful men for simply being powerful men.
