Obadiah teaches about the ancient art of being and living as a servant. To be a servant is grounded within the way we serve -- serving others, serving our community, serving God -- in all that we do and all that we say. Scripture says that Obadiah was a friend of Job, the suffering servant, person down and out yet faithful. So what does God require of us? To serve in ways that are just to our neighbor, to love and embrace where peace is needed in the world, and to walk humbly with those who suffer.
