E157: 1 John A - A Series of Stark Contrasts
The Bible in 30 Seconds or Less | New Testament: General Epistles
1 John is a letter to the Christians the elderly apostle calls his "little children". As he thinks about his own death, he worries about their faith, and presents them with a series of stark contrasts: Those who walk in the light and those who walk in the darkness. Those who love God and those who love the World. Those for are for Jesus and those who are anti-Christ. Above all, we see in this letter a genuine affection and concern that mirrors God's own love for us. A greater love that drives out fear and offers us Christ.
